Horner: Webber set for new Red Bull contract

DPA © Mark Webber's contract renewal at the Red Bull Formula One team is a mere formality, team principal Christian Horner told Wednesday's edition of German magazine Sport Bild.

"All that's missing is the signature, that's a formality. To be honest, I would have a problem seeing another pilot in our car or Mark Webber at another team," Horner said.

The Australian Webber, 34, has been at Red Bull since 2007. His current contract expires after the season. He came third in the 2010 championship and is second behind team-mate and world champion Sebastian Vettel entering Sunday's Hungarian race.

Webber suggested last season he was only second fiddle at the team and three weeks ago did not adhere to team tactics when he attacked Vettel for the lead in the closing stages of the British Grand Prix.

But Horner and Webber held clear-the-air talks after the race and Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz also said there was no doubt that Webber will drive for Red Bull in 2012.
