Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton both have 16 wins, Williams' Rubens Barrichello 11 and McLaren's Jenson Button 10. Vettel has won six of the 10 races this season and nine of the last 14. Schumacher holds the record for most wins in a season (13 with Ferrari in 2004). Only three drivers have won seven races in a season and not gone on to take the title: Schumacher (2006), Kimi Raikkonen (2005) and Alain Prost (1988 and 1984) - - - - MILESTONES Button is celebrating his 200th start this weekend, at the circuit where he took his first grand prix win with Honda in 2006. Germany's Nico Rosberg, at Mercedes, will be starting his 100th race. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, who took his first F1 win in Hungary with Renault in 2003, celebrates his 30th birthday on Friday. The 2.4 litre V8 engine is also marking it's 100th race since it replaced the old 3.0 litre V10 units at the start of 2006. - PODIUM Vettel's run of 11 podiums in a row ended at the Nuerburgring last weekend. Schumacher holds the record of 19 (2001/02). Webber has now been on the podium for four races in a row. - POLE POSITION Vettel has been on pole in seven of the 10 races this season. Red Bull have been on pole in all of them, with Australian Mark Webber taking the top slot in Spain, Britain and Germany. The record for poles in a single season by a driver is 14 (Nigel Mansell, 1992) Vettel has 22 career poles. Schumacher a record 68. Red Bull's run of poles extends back to last season and the team have started the last 11 races from that position. The record for successive poles by a constructor was set by Williams with 24 in 1992/93. McLaren's last pole position was with Hamilton in Canada in June 2010. Ferrari's last was with Alonso in Singapore last September. - QUALIFYING Vettel's home race also ended his run of 14 successive front row starts, with the 24-year-old qualifying third. The record of 24 front row starts still belongs to the late Brazilian Ayrton Senna (1988/89). Ferrari's Felipe Massa is the only driver to have been outqualified by his team mate in every race so far in 2011. - HUNGARY This weekend's race is the 26th Hungarian Grand Prix. McLaren have won three of the last four races at the Hungaroring. Despite the circuit having a reputation as difficult to overtake on, only one of the last six races there has been won from pole. Only twice in the last 11 years has the winner in Hungary gone on to win the title that year (Michael Schumacher 2004, 2001). Schumacher has won four times in Hungary. Hamilton has triumphed twice. The only Hungarian to have competed in the Formula One championship was Zsolt Baumgartner with Jordan and Minardi in 2003 and 2004. He scored a point for Minardi in 2004. - POINTS Vettel and Webber have both finished their last 12 races in the points. Schumacher holds the record of 24 successive scoring finishes. Team Lotus, Hispania (HRT) and Virgin Racing have yet to score a point in Formula One since their debuts in Bahrain last year. |
